OuterSpace seeks to cultivate community by providing artists with affordable, easy-to-use space for rehearsals, workshops, classes, and informal performances, and curate ongoing performances and classes. OuterSpace is managed by The Space Movement Project (TSMP) and located in the heart of Wicker Park, Chicago. The space consists of two 1400-square-foot spaces, featuring hardwood floors, central air/heat, natural light, and full kitchens. More about Outerspace Features
Apart from TSMP, OuterSpace is an ongoing rehearsal home to dancers, actors, poets, and performers of all kinds. Organizations and artists who have used the space over time include Theater Unspeakable, Kristina Isabelle Dance, Butoh Chicago, Chicago Lindy Hop, Learning Bar, the Leopold Group, J. Lindsay Brown Dance, Mozawa, Kelly Anderson Dance Theatre, Molly Shanahan/Mad Shak, and Salty Lark Dance. Ongoing performance series include Moonlight Owl Collective, New Room, Red Rover, and Research Project, a quarterly works-in-progress series curated by OuterSpace.
